John Masters Organics Evening Primrose Shampoo Review

I have a confession: I’m venturing out of the world of shampoo bars. I will definitely keep some on hand for travelling, but it’s extremely basic composition, it was stripping the fun pink, purple, and teal colours out of my hair. Not ideal. My local natural beauty store carries John Masters Organics, and since I am such a big fan of so many of their products, it was only natural that I’d reach for one of their shampoos. I was not disappointed!

Rahua Hair Care Review

I received samples of Rahua’s shampoo and conditioner with my last order to EcoDivaBeauty.ca and as a hair care product junkie I couldn’t wait to give them a try!  I really do like the shampoo bars, and will likely continue to use them for a long time to come, but I am still in the market for a good but gentle deep cleansing treatment to help remove any buildup.  And of course, I’m always open to trying a new conditioner!

First off, I really like that the shampoo doesn’t have any sulphates of any kind.  Not even the “safe” coco sulphate! (for a comparison of sulphates click here)  The formula is very thick, golden, translucent gel that gives a large amount of lather, which is somewhat shocking because of the ingredients.  I found that it really got my hair clean but without feeling like it had been stripped of all moisture.  That’s the best combination there could possibly be! The scent is quite gentle and has prominent notes of a licorice type smell. I will definitely repurchase this in the full size.  

***UPDATE: I have given the full size product a fair go and I am still blown away. It leaves my hair feeling light as air and silky soft. And even though my hail is super fine and grease prone I can go for four days without the slightest bit of heaviness in my hair.  Four days, ladies and gents!

The conditioner for me was kind of blah.  I feel like it did moisturize my hair, but didn’t leave my hair feeling quite as nice as the John Masters Organics Citrus and Neroli conditioner (review).  It smelled the same as the shampoo, which was nice, but it wasn’t enough for me to consider buying it in the full size.
